2025 Beneficiaries
Following is a summary of some events, projects, causes, and initiatives that the Marine Corps Coordinating Council of Kentucky (MCCCK) and/or its individual members have administratively, logistically, and financially supported during the year so indicated:
- December 2025 – Cooperative acquisition of grants and individual donations from Kentucky Marines and Friends of the Corps, including a unique fund raising initiative featuring the acquisition of select Single Barrel Bulleit “Frontier Whiskey” bottles commemorating the 250th Anniversary of the Marine Corps, totaling $54,825 for the benefit of the Semper Fi & America’s Fund (SF&AF), $51,600 of which was matched dollar-for-dollar by the Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation, thereby resulting in $106,425 support of injured and wounded Marines and other military personnel nationwide. With these matched donations and grants, the Marine Corps Coordinating Council of Kentucky (MCCCK) has now been responsible, either directly or indirectly, for generating $2,382,855 in support of the SF&AF and its vital mission, since the “Salute to the Legends of the Corps” at Keeneland during 2008.
- December 2025 – Continued funding of a college or university “Marine Corps Coordinating Council of Kentucky Scholarship,” to be awarded annually to a worthy son or daughter of a Kentucky Marine, under the auspices of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation (MCSF), which has been “honoring Marines by educating their children” since its inception in 1962. The Marine Corps Coordinating Council of Kentucky is proud to partner with the MCSF for the fifteenth consecutive year (2011-2025) in this truly important extension of its motto “Marines Serving Marines.”
- November 2025 – Facilitated acquisition of financial grants on behalf of Marine Corps League, Kentuckiana Detachment #729, in support of efforts to acquire sole ownership of Marine House, which is currently shared with the Buechel Women’s Club.
- November 2025 – Provided organizational, logistical, and financial support of the traditional Marine Corps Birthday Breakfast at the Thoroughbred Club of America (Keeneland), Lexington, Kentucky, during which Maj Houston Mills, Former Marine Corps Aviator and current President, Flight Operations, UPS Airlines, served as Guest of Honor.
- November 2025 – Presentation of a quality outdoor American flag to the Thoroughbred Club of America (Keeneland), Lexington, Kentucky, in gratitude for its gracious and generous hospitality in allowing the Marine Corps Coordinating Council of Kentucky to enjoy its beautiful facility for the annual Kentucky Marine Corps Birthday Breakfast.
- August 2025 – Financial support of Marine Corps Recruiting Station Louisville and Alpha Company, 4th Law Enforcement Battalion, Marine Corps Reserve, Lexington, Marine Corps Birthday celebrations.
- May 2025 – Provided financial support for Louisville Armed Forces Committee annual dinner celebration of Armed Forces Day, through the sponsorship of a table for representatives of Greater Louisville area based Marine Corps League, Montford Point Marine Association and Women Marines Association, as well as a “Patriot Award” honoring an active-duty Marine serving in the Louisville, Kentucky area.
- April 2025 – Provided funding support of the Young Marines of Northern Kentucky, a youth (ages 8-18) leadership organization affiliated with the Young Marines of the Marine Corps League, whose members participated in several Kentucky events celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the United States Marine Corps.
- March 2025 – Partnered with Marine Corps League, Kentuckiana Detachment #729, to provide emergency financial relief to Marine Corps veteran unable to make home mortgage payments due to short-term medical incapacitation affecting ability to work.
- March 2025 – Provided substantial emergency financial support to active-duty Marine Corps recruiter and family suffering substantial loss of food from damaging flood impacting his home in Pikeville, Kentucky.
- February 2025 – Provided funding support of the Montford Point Marine Association (Louisville Chapter) annual scholarship honoring worthy college-bound youth within the African American community in Louisville, Kentucky.
- February 2025 – Partnered with Marine Corps League, Kentuckiana Detachment #729, to provide emergency financial assistance to Marine Corps veteran and family who suffered substantial loss as result of fire to residence.
- January 2025 – Partnered with Marine Corps League, Kentuckiana Detachment #729, to provide temporary emergency financial relief to Marine Corps veteran experiences unexpected temporary loss of regular income.
- January 2025 – December 2025 – Funding of multiple hospitality receptions associated with “Resolved Fidelity 250” celebrations of 250th Anniversary of the United States Marine Corps staged at grave of Franklin Sousley (Iwo Jima flag raiser), Kentucky State Capitol Rotunda, Presley O’Bannon grave, and Tun Tavern remembrance social gathering for Sustaining Membership and Friends of the Corps.
